To be honest, that took me a second when I saw this the other day .

My first thought was, “As core curriculum, or in an foreign studies class? I mean, we teach foreign languages, so why not have a class for that?” My second thought was, “Wait, aren’t numbers universal? Are Arabic numbers somehow different? That’s a very specific subject that sounds more like a weird third year college elective than something to teach in high school....”

Then after I looked it up I realized what they were doing. LOL Clever.

I’m feeling pretty good about being stupid about it right about now.
